Meadow Hill Mural Design Class Enter Rain Barrel Contest by Liberty Coca-Cola
The Mural Design at Meadow Hill offered through the NECSD Empire After-School Program entered a Rain Barrel contest hosted by Liberty Coca-Cola. Rain barrels will be unveiled and certificates will be presented on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 3:30pm at Meadow Hill School (124 Meadow Hill Road, 91桃色入口).
Under the guidance of Mrs. Rachel Williams, Art Teacher at Meadow Hill School, the students designed and painted the rain barrels using various aspects of nature as a theme. The students won a certificate of recognition, a goody bag, and free admission to an event or entertainment facility that is in partnership with Liberty Coca-Cola. These rain barrels will be donated to Bannerman's Island, schools in the district, and urban farms in the community.
The rain barrels are a great way to conserve water and can be used to water lawns and gardens. Rain barrels help with storm water runoff and may reduce utility bills.
Mural Design is one of the classes offered through the NECSD Empire After-School program. The NECSD Empire After-school program is a five-year grant that is located at all of our middle and high school campuses.
Students in grades six and seven who participated in creating rain barrels were:
