Reserve Your Spot for Empty Bowls!
It’s that time of year again for our annual tradition at NFA to help the many hungry people in our area, and we need you to make it a success. For those of you who are new to the NFA community, Empty Bowls is a national network of volunteer efforts to provide hunger relief. All proceeds go to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, the main food supplier to local food pantries and soup kitchens.
Mr. Joshua Lipira and his Ceramics students will be making one-of-a-kind ceramic bowls. Members of the Empty Bowls Committee will be getting the supplies ready; their senior students will be setting up, serving, and clearing. The gracious ladies of the cafeteria will be making several delicious soups, and Jim Morrison and his students will be baking up some trays of their tempting brownies. All parts of the meal and door prizes are donated by area businesses, and this year we will be raffling some beautiful baskets made by our own faculty and staff.
On Thursday, April 12 th , from 5:00 to 7:00 in the North Cafeteria, we will serve a simple meal of soup, bread, salad, and fruit while being serenaded. The donation for each meal is $15 – but you keep the bowl to remind you all year that there are plenty among us who face empty bowls each day.
We will have a limited number of bowls available so tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. If you are unable to attend, we will gratefully accept your donation to help fill the many empty bowls in our community.
Please use the tear-off form below to order your tickets and/or make a contribution in the form of a CHECK made payable to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley – tax deductible! (If you’d like to merge your contribution with another colleague, one of you could write the check.) You can place your order in Becky O’Herron’s or Pilar Treus’ mailbox in NFA’s main office.
Get your tickets today - this event sells out every year!
