Temple Hill Academy Welcomes Paws for a Cause Therapy Dogs
In a heartwarming event, therapy dogs and their handlers recently visited Temple Hill Academy to teach students the importance of interacting with animals safely and respectfully. The event focused on educating children about the importance of being calm and respectful around dogs. Handlers demonstrated how to greet dogs gently and explained the importance of asking permission before petting. Students also learned to recognize when a dog may need space, reinforcing the idea that animals, like people, have boundaries.
In addition to teaching proper animal care, the visit highlighted the vital roles therapy dogs play. These dogs are trained to provide emotional support, help in hospitals, schools, and nursing homes, and offer comfort to individuals facing mental or physical challenges. By the end of the session, students had a deeper understanding of the positive impact therapy dogs have on people’s lives and the importance of treating animals with kindness and respect.
