NFA Architecture and Engineering Students Learn from Local Bridge Inspectors
A group of bridge inspectors from the local branch of came to NFA for a demonstration of various tools and techniques that they use on a daily basis. Students were able to try on the vests and fall protection harnesses, as well as interact with the specialized inspection tools. The bridge inspectors demonstrated how to operate the boom truck and the importance of teamwork and communication during these operations. Our hope is to create future internship opportunities between WSP and NFA students that give students real world experience and training within the Civil and Geotechnical Engineering fields.
Stephanie Santiago, an NFA Graduate from the class of 2010, works for WSP in Goshen and was the main organizer of the visit, along with two colleagues, Joniel Edwards and Asiana Lee, who split their time between the Manhattan and Goshen WSP branches.
On behalf of NFA, the Architecture and Engineering classes would like to thank these women for inspiring and motivating our scholars through the work that they do and opportunities that they are providing for our community.
