NFA Main Recognizes Attendance Achievements!
NFA Main Campus is celebrating student attendance! Two celebratory attendance events we are having for Cohorts 2020 and 2022 at NFA Main. The team of school counselors, social works, grade level administrators, and support staff recognized 798 students. The team hosted an ice cream party for 320 students that have exemplary (100-95%) attendance in the Eagle's Nest. 478 students that have outstanding attendance (94-85%) were also recognized with a grab and go treat (Fruit Roll-ups). Celebratory events for students in Cohorts 2021 and 2019 will be held next week. Congratulations to the students who were recognized!
As we get further into the school year, we would like to remind all of our families of the importance of good attendance for all students. Every day a student is absent is a lost opportunity for learning and growing as a learner. Absences not only can affect achievement for the student who is not present, but also can disrupt learning for the entire class.
We realize that there are reasons why your child may be late to or miss school with an excused reason. Please reference, | for specific attendance information and a list of excused absences. On those occasions, please send a valid note with a signature. If you are aware of an absence ahead of time, please call your child’s main office (elementary and middle schools) or attendance office (high schools) and submit a note upon your child’s return to school.
The research is clear and concrete on the fact that students who consistently miss school (whether excused or unexcused) are at risk of lower academic achievement, failure, and even dropping out of school altogether. We don’t want to see that happen to any of our scholars and we rely on our families to act as partners to help support the academic success of their child(ren).
We are thankful for the collaborative efforts of our students, families, faculty and staff to promote attendance habits in our schools for every scholar. We each play a critical role!
