Balmville Puts On Winter Holiday Show!
Mrs. Collier's 2nd grade class and Ms. Campbell Defoe's 3rd grade class put on a Winter Holiday Show for families at Balmville School. The show was a multicultural celebration that highlighted the differences and similarities centered around Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. The two classes worked closely during a four week, 30 minutes per day, rehearsal process. The ensemble featured several English Language Learners and many other scholars who initially struggled with voice projection and confidence. Throughout their preparation for the show, the second and third grade students had fun while enhancing their communication skills, voice projection, and unleashing their creativity.
The show was filled with great songs and perfectly timed comedic moments. The scholars put on quite a show and their loved ones in the audience really seemed to enjoy their performance. Mrs. Collier expressed how proud she was of all of the students who participated despite many being apprehensive initially. She mentioned seeing how proud the students were of themselves following the Winter Holiday Show and added, "Ultimately that's the pay off-- watching the students work together to exceed their own expectations".
Bravo to all of the scholars for an amazing performance!
