Dear Parent, Guardians and Families,
We hope that you have been enjoying this amazing autumn season we have had so far. It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Below are some updates that will keep you updated about all that is happening this time of year at Heritage Middle School and in the NECSD.
Question: Are Parent/Teacher Conferences being scheduled for this school year?
Answer: Heritage will be holding P/T Conferences on Wednesday November 25, 2020 from 7:00-10:30 AM and Wednesday December 2, 2020 from 4:30-8:00 PM via Google Meets.
Question: How do I sign up for a Parent/Teacher conference?
Answer: Your child’s Grade Level Team of teachers and Related Arts teachers will provide access to a signupgenius link. This information will also be made available on the Heritage Middle School district webpage. There you will be able to select a date/time for your meeting.
Question: My child’s teacher said they didn’t turn in an assignment but when I look in the Google classroom, it says it was submitted. Why is the teacher saying that and how can I double check?
Answer: Go into your child’s Google classroom under Classwork and you can see assignments that were submitted. You can open up the assignment. If it is blank then it was submitted but not completed.
Question: When I go into the Parent Portal and look at my child’s attendance, it isn’t accurate. What do I do?
Answer: Attendance in the system takes 24-48 hours to be updated so don’t panic! If it is still incorrect after that make sure to the classroom teacher.
Question: I want my child to be able to come back to school 2 days a week OR I want my child to remain at home 100% virtual. How do I make a change?
Answer: The district is currently not accepting changes. However, if there is a concern or issue, please contact your child’s Grade Level Administrator via email or phone call.
Question: When will I receive my child’s report card?
Answer: The end of the first marking period is Friday 11/13/20. Report cards will be put into the mail on Friday 11/20/20. You should receive the report card within a week.
Question: What if my child is failing?
Answer: Take time to have a Parent/Teacher Conference. Students will NOT be socially promoted this year. Students are required to be in class and pass courses in order to move onto the next grade level.
