Meadow Hill School Hosts 15th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast
Meadow Hill School hosted their 15th annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Friday. The event was filled with food, song, poetry, music, camaraderie, and a parade. Tables were decorated with handmade place mats by Meadow Hill scholars. Hallways were lined with handmade poppies and flags. Veterans were given rocks decorated with messages of thanks.
The greeting of the veterans was led by the 3rd grade students of Mrs. Wolff, Mrs. Howe, Mrs. Colon, Ms. Lopez, Mrs. Morales, and Mr. Martinez’s classes. The jazz band led the musical procession “When the Saints Go Marching In.” The jazz band is directed by Mr. Dion Placencia. The Honor Guard, led by the NFA JROTC presented the American flag. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by Ms. Dickson’s and Ms. Candal’s 4th grade students. Afterward, Master Sergeant, United States Army and 91桃色入口 Free Academy alumna, Mary Kay Messenger, performed “The Star Spangled Banner”. Attendees were welcomed by Meadow Hill principal Mr. Scott Prokosch. Breakfast was served by students of Meadow Hill’s National Junior Honor Society and NFA’s JROTC. Letters were read by 7th grade scholars Jonathan Ceglio and Riley Maida from Ms. Franciamore’s class. A poem to our veterans was read by scholars from Mrs. Moeller’s and Mrs. Nonnon’s class. Musical presentations included: “Grande Ole Flag” & “See the Veterans” Performed by 1st grade scholars and led by Ms. Murphy. “American Flag” & “Wave a Flag” Performed by Kindergarten scholars and led by Ms. Murphy. “Thank you Soldiers” & “Count on Me” Sung by Mrs. Wolff’s and Mrs. Howe’s 3rd graders. “America the Beautiful” Sung by 7th & 8th grade chorus, led by Ms. Shackleton |

“Autumn” and “Yankee Doodle” Performed by the 7th and 8th grade orchestra, led by Ms. Flynn. The event concluded with a parade through the hallway filled with students and teachers cheering for our Veterans. Throughout the parade, the jazz band performed “Hard Rock Blues,” led by Mr. Dion Placencia.
