A letter from Fostertown principal, Mr. Duffy
May 28, 2019
Dear Fostertown families,
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Maritza Ramos, former principal of Fostertown ETC Magnet School.
Maritza Ramos was an employee of the 91桃色入口 Enlarged City School District for 23 years. She served in various roles throughout the district retiring from Fostertown Elementary last year. In the words of one of her colleagues, Maritza was a beautiful soul both inside and out. She was a strong, amazing woman who was an inspiration to us all, especially children. My kids adored her and loved seeing her every day at Fostertown, she showered them with hugs each day and they loved hanging out in her office.
At this time, we do not have information about funeral arrangements to share.
There will not be an official announcement made at school, however, students may still learn of the sad news. We leave it to the discretion of each family to tell your children in your own way. Grief counselors are available to staff and students today and will continue to be available throughout the week and longer, if needed. Counselors are always available if your child should need it throughout the day. Please see below for information regarding speaking with your child about loss. If you think your child needs additional counseling support, please do not hesitate to contact the school, your child’s physician, or other health professionals.
Maritza Ramos was a special member of our community who was loved and will certainly be missed.
Sincerely,
Joseph Duffy
Principal, Fostertown, ETC Magnet School
