Meet NFA Senior, Stacy Yonnone
Stacy Yonnone is a senior at 91桃色入口 Free Academy Main campus. Her most recent claim to fame is the work she contributed to calibrate the welding machine to create dozens of Goldback and Goldiebacks for the annual NECSD Day celebration, along with teaching assistant Ms. Joann Silva. After the mementos were complete, Stacy took time to spray each one in the signature gold.
Stacy was first introduced to welding by her sisters who have also taken welding classes at NFA. “It seemed intriguing at first, so I tried it and fell in love with it.” Stacy Yonnone, 12th grader at 91桃色入口 Free Academy. Welding at 91桃色入口 Free Academy Main Campus is taught by Mr. Eric Czarnecki
Stacy already completed the three required years of the welding program, so now, during her senior year, she comes on a period that would otherwise be free for independent study. Additionally, Stacy takes courses in carpentry through the Construction Academy with Mr. Chris Cotton.
Stacy has taken a computer science class that included animation. “I kind of live for these Tech Ed (technical education) classes.” Stacy Yonnone, 12th grader at 91桃色入口 Free Academy.
Inspired by her computer science class, taught by Mrs. Elizabeth Cappello, Stacy will be attending SUNY Orange in the fall to earn her associates degree in for visual communications. After SUNY Orange, she is still debating going into the workforce or transferring to a four-year school. Stacy plans to go into either web design or game design.
Outside of school, Stacy’s family owns a shop that does sign work, printing, and welding, as well as fixes ATV or snowmobiles. Through her welding classes at NFA, Stacy has created jigs that started as a Mother’s Day gift and ended up being used for some of their professional work.
One creation that Stacy was most fond of was one of her first, a Pac-Man sign with little ghosts on top. “At first, it took so many attempts as I was learning the machine, but now it seems pretty easy.” Stacy Yonnone, 12th grader at 91桃色入口 Free Academy.
They creation she is most proud of is a 12-foot able that she built in Construction Academy. She considers it “beyond amazing” and definitely her favorite. When asked if she signs any of her work or leaves a mark, she said, “Not usually, but I signed that one!”
