Temple Hill Students Learn About Raptors with Delaware Raptor Center director Bill Streeter
Temple Hill Academy 6th grade scholars met with Delaware Raptor Center director Bill Streeter on May 15th. Mr. Streeter enhanced scholar's knowledge of raptors and the impact DDT had on these types of birds. This is connected to the scholar's last unit in Mr. Byrne's English classes based on the novel "Frightful's Mountain" and researching DDT. Guests included a Kestrel, Saw-whet Owl, Peregrine Falcon, Red Tailed Hawk, Great Horned Owl, and a one-year-old American Bald Eagle who was one of 15 Bald Eagles injured last May when tornadoes touched down in the Hudson Valley.
